The venue must provide one point per performer which has been load tested to 300kg min. (This allows us to work within a safe limit for the act, with a loading safety factor of 5)
The rigging point must be at a minimum height of 6 metres from the floor for aerial silks. Other aerial forms may be rigged at a lower height, for example, aerial hoop can be rigged at 4 metres.
- Strong rigging points are required to rig from. These points should be preferably above a stage, accessible by your ladder, overhead walkways, trussing or a cherry picker. The points must be clear of edges, lights, gas and water pipes, and we should be able to pass a hand all the way around the beam or rigging point.
- If we are required to bring our own rigging bar and cabling because we cannot hang directly from what is in the venue, please let us know well in advance, before the contract is signed. The preferred height is 8 metres.
- Rigging is preferred at least 5 hours prior to the performance with no public present. Derig takes 1/2 hour. (This is variable on the simplicity of the rig.)
- Please let us know whether our silks will remain hanging down during the event or if we need to bring paging lines, where can we tie these off to on the wall.
- The audience need to be cleared from beneath the performance area and kept away during performances.
There are two silks for Starfiz duets which need to be rigged about 2.5metres apart, at a preferred height of 8 metres.
Starfiz have publice liability insurance and provide their own equipment. Risk assessment upon request.
